Masteries in Titan Quest 2 are skill trees that shape your playstyle and dictate the type of damage you inflict. Players can customize their characters forming their own unique classes by combining two masteries. Experiment with each skill modifiers, attributes, and items to create hybrid classes to discover your preferred playstyle as you progress through the game. The previous game initially features eight Masteries, with three additional ones introduced through DLCs. Several, if not all, may make a comeback to Titan Quest 2. Mastery improvement involves spending Mastery points obtained upon leveling up. Points can be allocated to unlock and enhance skills, categorized as passive (circle-shaped icons) or active (square-shaped icons). The skill tree employs a tiered structure, requiring lower-tier skills to be unlocked before progressing to higher tiers, with higher-tier skills demanding more Mastery Points for acquisition or enhancement. This page lists all available Masteries in Titan Quest 2, although not much information has been revealed, we will be updating this page accordingly in the future.

Titan Quest 2 Masteries

Mastery Points can additionally be used to upgrade the Mastery itself through a tier meter. Allocating points to this meter not only unlocks higher-tier skills but also boosts Dexterity, Intelligence, and Strength stats, amplifying damage output based on your chosen damage type. The eleven Masteries you can find in the original Titan Quest are:

Defense

This Mastery is, as it's name implies, focused on player defenses through providing defensive buffs and allowing the player to make the most out of having a shield equipped. Some of the buffs in question include giving you and your allies a higher chance to block attacks, decreasing your damage and energy taken, increasing your resistance to status effects, and so on. The Defense Mastery additionally allows the player character to perform a series of maneuvers with a shield, including dashes that have a chance to stun enemies, slams that disrupt enemy actions, and spells that summon the spirit of fallen comrades.

Dream

A Mastery added through the Immortal Throne DLC, this skill tree is a flexible one that is a strong contender for a secondary Mastery, providing a variety of powerful effects. These effects include tough summons that will not only take damage for you, but can also dish out significant damage through a pet buff in the skill tree, strong crowd control spells that debilitate enemies through stuns and lowered resistances, and auras that buff your speed, damage, and defenses.

Earth

Though called Earth Mastery, this skill tree allows the character to specialize not only in earth spells, but also in fire-oriented spells. As is the trend in spellcasters, characters with this mastery will have lower defenses than those with martial Masteries, but boast great area of effect (AoE) damage. The Earth Mastery also provides some good buffs and debuffs to damage and defense for allies and enemies respectively.

Hunting

Another martial Mastery, characters with the Hunting Mastery specialize in increasing piercing damage, the perfect Mastery for those who prefer an archery-focused playstyle or being a melee fighter with a spear, capable of high single-target burst damage. This tree also allows players to deal decent damage over time (DoT) through bleeding, and debuff enemy defenses while buffing their own speed.

Nature

Nature Mastery is another well-rounded skill tree, being one of the best defensive-oriented Masteries. With access to summons, and defensive buffs and debuffs that complement many, if not all, damage types, there is a lot of room for strong synergies with other Masteries. This Mastery gives the character access to healing magics, buffs that increase character damage and speed, debuffs that make enemies more vulnerable to various damage types and status effects, and summons that can apply even more buffs to bolster the caster and their allies.

Neidan

A Mastery added with the Eternal Embers DLC and a great Mastery for taking as a secondary Mastery; this skill tree turns the character into a monk that channels chi to inflict debuffs onto foes, but also has the ability to create concoctions that deal elemental damage onto foes and buffs themselves and allies. Their buffs include improving resistances to elemental damage and improving the damage and speed of the character and their allies. This in conjunction with a debuff to lower enemy resistances is a great recipe to maximize any elemental damage you deal.

Rogue

A martial Mastery that can provide boosts to piercing, poison, and bleeding damage, and have active skills that deal the same damage types. Rogue Mastery is a decent skill tree to take as a secondary Mastery to supplement your damage with additional poison ticks. With certain skills, characters with this skill tree can also inflict prolonged confusion, causing enemies to fumble their attacks.

Rune

Added with the Ragnarok DLC, this skill tree allows the character to deal various types of elemental damage, or if taken as a secondary Mastery, provides supplementary elemental damage. On top of this, it is one of two masteries that enable dual-wielding and can inflict a myriad of status effects such as slow, confusion, freeze, and stun.

Spirit

Yet another strong defensive Mastery, this skill tree provides powerful buffs and debuffs, a few healing spells, and access to some pets. Despite primarily being focused on utility and defense, this Mastery also gives the character the ability to deal decent vitality damage. With this Mastery, you'll be able to bolster your bleeding and vitality damage and shred enemy resistances to the same damage types.

Storm

A spellcasting Mastery similar to Earth, Storm Mastery features even more AoE damage and the ability to inflict status effects, but at the cost of being even more fragile. Active damaging skills under this skill tree deal either cold or lighting damage, and may additionally sap enemies of their energy, immobilize or slow enemies, inhibit their movement, or disable/stun enemies. Though few, this skill tree also includes some skills that can strip enemy resistances and reduce the damage they deal.

Warfare

The martial Mastery, this skill tree is fully geared towards boosting and dealing burst physical damage, both single-target and AoEs. It is additionally one of two Masteries that enable dual-wielding. You'll find everything you want for physical damage in this tree, from physical damage buffs for you and your allies to physical resistance shredding for enemies. Some skills in this tree also allow you to inflict bleed.
